Website Competition
Spring 2020

Many computer science students have personal websites. If you don't, they're always a good idea to have. This semester the ACM will be hosting a competition to see who has the best personal website.

Competition Details

There will be two divisions. One division is for those using no frameworks (only HTML, CSS, or script tags). The other division is for those using any type of framework (React, Angular, Vue, Ruby on Rails, etc...).

Signup Deadline: March 3, 2020 at 11:59:59 PM
Submission Deadline: April 14, 2020 at 11:59:59 PM
Winners Announced: April 28, 2020 at 6:00 PM

Rules

  • All work must be your own or be properly attributed. It's fine to borrow work from others, but you have to properly cite anything that you copy.
  • The majority of the website needs to be your own. You cannot simply put your information into a template.
  • Your website must be managed in source control. This can be anything from GitHub to GitLab or any other form of SCM.
  • There needs to be reasonable content on your website. It has to be something that people would want to go to. This could include a biography, a resume, or a project portfolio to name some examples. The content is entirely up to you.
  • Your website should follow proper coding standards. This includes basic accessibility guidelines.
  • Your website should be responsive and work on a variety of devices.
  • Your website should have a clear flow and positive user experience.
Framework-Free Rules
  • You are allowed to use basic libraries such as Bootstrap.
  • You can either submit your source code files or submit a link to a hosted website. (GitHub pages is free!)
With-Framework Rules
  • You must provide hosting for us to view your website by.
